Background

The changes to the application and review process are part of the Research Council of Finland’s reform programme, which aims to speed up the processing of applications, increase the transparency of the review and decision-making and at the same time adapt our operations to the available resources. As part of the reform programme, the online services (SARA) will also be revamped.

The reform programme will be carried out in 2023–2024, and the new online service is due to be introduced in 2025.

As part of the preparation, applicants and other stakeholders will get an opportunity to participate in a consultation in May 2023.
