Decision-makers at the Academy of Finland
Administration Office
The Administration Office prepares and implements decisions made by the Board, research councils, the Finnish Research Infrastructure Committee, the Strategic Research Council, subcommittees and the Academy’s president, and signs the agreements resulting from the decisions.
The Administration Office is headed by a president and two vice presidents. The VP for administration is responsible for administrative operations and development. The VP for research is responsible for science policy planning and research funding development.
With a staff of some 150, the Administration Office sees to our administration, does all the necessary groundwork for official decision-making by our Board and research councils, and executes their decisions. Staff at the Administration Office also prepare science policy surveys and plans and participate in several Finnish and international working groups.
