Research infrastructures as collaborative platforms’ call: prioritisation list for attachment to applications by university or other research infrastructure host

Instructions

Submission of prioritisation list

A prioritisation list shall be attached to every application. The list can be submitted to the Academy either by

  1. Completing the information below and attaching the list to the host organisation’s application to the ‘Research infrastructures as collaborative platforms’ call by the deadline set

    OR by

  2. Indicating in the list that the host organisation will be providing the required information to the Academy / that it will supplement its application by submitting the completed prioritisation list no later than 30 September 2020.

General principles

  • Host organisation refers to a university or other research organisation that is responsible for the research infrastructure or part of an infrastructure network.
  • All host organisations participating in the ‘Research infrastructures as collaborative platforms’ call shall prepare their own prioritisation list for this call. Research infrastructures included in the prioritisation list for the Roadmap 2020 call may also be included in the list for the current call.
  • Prioritisation lists shall be attached to the application as appendices and submitted to the Academy no later than 30 September 2020.
  • An application is eligible only if all its host organisations have included it in their prioritisation lists.
  • The Research Infrastructure Committee’s funding decisions will consider not only the review statement and the aims and objectives of the call, but also the research organisations’ prioritisations.

How to complete the template

  • Each host organisation can prepare two lists of applications it wishes to commit to.
    • Applicant list (H): The responsible applicant’s list shall list the applications in which the host organisation is the responsible applicant.
    • Co-applicant list (O): The co-applicant list shall list the applications in which the host organisation is a consortium party, but not the responsible applicant.
    • Applicants are not required to explain the reasons for their prioritisations. If necessary, the Finnish Research Infrastructure Committee will request this information afterwards.
  • In both lists (H and O) the host organisation shall prioritise its applications by placing them into groups A, B or C.
    • Group A is for applications which the host organisation considers the most important in the present call. Group A can include no more than 30% of the applications on the list. If there are only a few applications, you may place at least one application in group A.
    • Group B is for applications which the host organisation considers the second most important in the present call. Group B can include no more than 40% of the applications on the list. If there are only a few applications, you may place at least one application in group B.
    • Group C is for applications which the host organisation considers the third most important in the present call.
