FIRI: Host organisation’s prioritisation list

Prioritisation list for FIRI 2021 application: for research organisation that hosts research infrastructure

General principles

  • ‘Host organisation’ refers to a university or another research organisation that is responsible for the research infrastructure or a part of the research infrastructure network.
  • Applications to be prioritised will be sent to the organisations (rectors or similar) to support the prioritisation work after the call has closed (May–June 2021).
  • The signed prioritisation lists shall be delivered to the Academy of Finland’s Registrar’s Office (kirjaamo@aka.fi) by 3 September 2021.

Implementation

  • Each host organisation can draft two lists of the applications to which it wishes to commit.
    • Applicant list: The responsible applicant’s list includes the applications which have the host organisation as the responsible applicant.
    • This list includes applications in both FIRI 2021 calls (roadmap and non-roadmap).
    • Co-applicant list: The co-applicant’s list includes the applications which have the host organisation as a consortium party, but not as the responsible applicant.
    • This list includes applications in both FIRI 2021 calls (roadmap and non-roadmap).
    • For each group, justify in free form (3–5 sentences) the reasons why the applications have been placed in that group (A–C).
  • In both lists, the host organisation prioritises its applications by placing them into groups A, B or C.
    • Group A includes the applications the host organisation prioritises the most in the FIRI roadmap call. Group A can include no more than 30% of the applications on the list. The percentage of the applicant list is calculated from applications on the applicant list, and the percentage of the co-applicant list from applications on the co-applicant list. If there are only a few applications, you may place at least one application in group A.
    • Group B includes the applications the host organisation prioritises the second most in the FIRI roadmap call. Group B can include no more than 40% of the applications on the list. If there are only a few applications, you may place at least one application in group B.
    • Group C includes the applications the host organisation prioritises the third most in the FIRI roadmap call.
