Academy of Finland’s April 2021 call texts out now

The Academy of Finland’s April 2021 call texts are now available on the Academy’s website. Applications can be submitted in the online services as of Thursday 1 April. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 28 April at 16.15 Finnish time. The FIRI 2021 call for research infrastructures closes on 19 May 2021. Funding can be applied for from the ICT 2023 programme, an Academy Programme on the circular economy, and for research infrastructures.

The ICT 2023 call concerns two themes: Frontier AI Technologies Security and Privacy in Decentralised and Distributed Systems. The Academy’s total funding budget for these two themes is 7 million euros.

The aim of the Academy Programme Critical Materials in Circular Economy of Cities is to produce new scientific information on flows of critical materials in the circular economy, high-tech products and services for the circular economy, the cooperation and governance of different actors in the circular economy in cities and the relationship between the circular economy and urbanisation. The programme has a funding budget of 8 million euros.

The FIRI 2021 call for research infrastructures is open until 19 May. The call is actually two calls: the first is a call for roadmap research infrastructures and projects affiliated with international research infrastructures where Finland is a member, and the second is a call for research infrastructures not included in the roadmap. The total funding budget for the two FIRI 2021 calls is approximately 30 million euros.
