Board of Academy of Finland appoints new Finnish Research Infrastructure Committee

The chairs and members of the Academy of Finland’s Finnish Research Infrastructure Committee have been appointed. The Board of the Academy of Finland appointed the new Committee for the period 1 July 2022–30 June 2025.

The Finnish Research Infrastructure Committee monitors and develops Finnish and international research infrastructure activities, provides funding to infrastructure projects and monitors the funded projects. It also performs other infrastructure tasks assigned by the Academy Board.

The chair and members of the Finnish Research Infrastructure Committee are appointed by the Academy Board after hearing the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture. The chair and members have diverse experience of organisations of the research and innovation system and understanding of the significance of research infrastructures. They are acknowledged researchers or experts of science policy. The Academy Board decides the number of Committee members.
