At the Academy Programme on Development Research (DEVELOP) annual seminar, DEVELOP research projects present their research and preliminary results with posters, and the researchers are present to discuss their research in more detail. In addition, two thought-provoking keynote speeches will be heard, and five panellists and the audience will tackle topic themes in a moderated panel discussion. The event is intended for DEVELOP programme researchers and broader scientific community, representatives of stakeholders, decision makers, officials and the media, as well as other interested parties. The event will organised as a hybrid event at Academy of Finland (Hakaniemenranta 6, 00530 Helsinki) and as an online stream.

15.00–16.20 Moderated panel discussion: Target forward. How do we see development research in near future? Regions, politics, themes, new methods, cooperation, funding. Panel members: Henry Maina (University of Helsinki), Jyrki Luukkanen (University of Turku), Päivi Honkatukia (Tampere University), Manal El Abboubi (Economia-HEM research center – Rabat), Johanna Hohenthal (University of Helsinki).
