Strategic Research Council grants continued funding to consortia selected in 2019

The Strategic Research Council (SRC) established within the Academy of Finland decided on 13 June 2022 to grant continued funding to the consortia selected to the 2019 SRC programmes. Continued funding was granted to all twelve consortia in the following programmes:

• Culture in an Increasingly Technologically Driven Society (CULT, 2019–2025)
• Towards a Sustainable, Healthy and Climate-Neutral Food System (FOOD, 2019–2025)
• Innovative Materials and Services to Promote Resource Wisdom and Sustainable Development (IMPRES, 2019–2025)
• The Changing Role of Public Authority and the Potential for Steering Society (STEER, 2019–2025)

As a rule, the consortia funded under SRC programmes run for six years, but the funding is granted in two three-year periods. Funding for a second funding period is granted based on an application for continued funding and the activities during the first period.

The consortia that were granted continued funding launched in June 2019 and now received funding until August 2025. The amount of continued funding for each consortium is half of the funding for the first period. The funding granted in the four programmes totalled 25.7 million euros, on average 2.1 million euros per consortium.
