Impact stories

The impact stories produced by projects funded by the strategic research council (SRC) describe the societal impact of the research from the perspective of the projects. They provide concrete information on the societal changes or solutions the projects have sought to promote, and how their research and interactions have contributed to the necessary development.

The impact stories are used to monitor the societal impact of SRC-funded projects and programmes during the funding period. Monitoring funded projects and evaluating their impact are part of the statutory duties of the SRC.

Publication of impact stories

The impact stories of projects and programme directors are made available via the Research Council of Finland’s materials bank. The impact stories on the programmes operating between 2015 and 2021 (EQUA, PIHI, TECH and CITIZEN) were published in 2023.

Permission to publish the stories has been sought from the projects. Not all stories are published. Unpublished stories are available on request from kirjaamo(at)aka.fi.

In the materials bank, the impact stories are presented by programme. Browse the impact stories.

We aim to add more impact stories to the materials bank where possible.
