55 letters of intent submitted to SRC programme calls
The first stage of the Strategic Research Council’s (SRC) call for the 2025 programmes closed on 22 January. The two programmes attracted a total of 55 letters of intent. The letters of intent were submitted as follows:
34 letters of intent to SRC programme Skills, Labour Supply and Migration in Future Finland (SKILLS)
21 letters of intent to SRC programme Economy and Welfare in an Era of Strategic Competition (WELEC)
Next, review panels will assess the letters of intent for their scientific quality, societal relevance and impact. They will also consider how well the letters of intent match the programmes. The SRC will decide the projects that will go through to the second call stage in March (tentative schedule).
The SRC will also provide funding for the programmes’ part-time programme directors, who will be tasked with supporting the formation of the programme package and promoting cross-programme scientific and societal impact. More information on the programme director call will be published on the strategic research website in March. The call will open in March.
