Survey on strategic research themes has closed – thanks for the good suggestions and discussions!

The survey on new strategic research themes has now closed. By the deadline, we received nearly 180 proposals to support the theme preparation of the Strategic Research Council (SRC). A more than 400 users logged in to take the survey, and they engaged in a very active discussion.

We warmly thank all participants for the new ideas and for the constructive discussion to develop the ideas further. Active participation in the process supports the preparation of high-quality themes, and weighing up ideas from many different angles helps to deepen and enrich them.

All proposals and comments will be examined as part of the theme preparations. Next, the preparation continues at the SRC and in early 2025 with a stakeholder workshop. In May 2025, the SRC will once again hold an open consultation, where interested parties will have the opportunity to hear the SRC’s views on the draft theme proposal and comment on it. After the consultation, the SRC will prepare the final theme proposal and submit it to the Government for decision.

Based on the Government’s decision, the SRC will in autumn 2025 prepare the SRC programmes and calls to be launched in 2026.
