Q:Can I include text-wrapped figures in the research plan with the editor?

A: No, you can’t. You can however create a text-wrapped figure with other programs, such as MS Word, and copy it as an image into the research plan editor (Ctrl + V).

Q:The table I’ve attached to or created with the research plan editor doesn’t wrap correctly into the PDF version of the plan. What should I do?

A: Create the table with MS Word and try copying it into the research plan editor (Ctrl + V). You can also copy it as an image.

Q:The image I have attached to the research plan editor extends over the borders of the PDF version of the plan. What should I do?

A: Try copying it into the editor (Ctrl + V).

Q:The image I’ve attached to the research plan is visible in the editor, but not in the PDF version. Why?

A: Try making the image smaller in the editor by dragging it from its corners.

Q:Which web browsers are supported?

A: The supported web browsers and their versions are Internet Explorer 9 or newer, Firefox 45 or newer and Safari 9 or newer. Saving the research plan, for instance, may not work with some Safari versions. Users have also reported problems with Google Chrome and Firefox 60.2.

Q:The Your application in PDF format button doesn’t work, what’s the problem?

A: Check that you have ticked your ten most important publications on the tab Publications.

Q:What is the length of the research plan?Do the abstract and the bibliography count towards the length of the research plan? How can I check the length while filling in the plan?

A: The maximum length of the PDF version is 14 pages (17 pages for consortia). The bibliography (max. 2 pages) is included in the length, the abstract is not. You can check the length of the research plan (incl. the bibliography) at any time by clicking on Show research plan in the menu on the left.

Q:Where do I fill in the abstract, if I’m submitting the research plan as a PDF appendix?

A: Even if you’re submitting the research plan as a PDF appendix, you must fill in the abstract on the tab Research plan in the field Abstract.

Q: What should I do when special characters or symbols I add in the research plan editor appear as question marks in the PDF version?

A: Add the special characters in the editor by using the formula (mathematics) button.

Q: How do I add line breaks between paragraphs in the PDF version of the research plan?

A: In the editor, add two line breaks (Enter) to the text. Adding a single line break in the editor starts a new row but doesn’t add an empty space between paragraphs.
