A more equal sharing of parental leave supports employment
Research can help society influence and adapt to changes in fertility rates and accelerating population ageing. For example, a more equal sharing of parental leave supports the social and economic sustainability of society by reducing inequality and strengthening employment and the economy. To support decision-making, the FLUX consortium (Family Formation in Flux – Causes, Consequences and Possible Futures) has prepared a policy brief proposing concrete measures for a well-functioning parental leave system.
