RCF funding call to strengthen university research profiles scheduled to open in spring 2027

The Research Council of Finland (RCF) is planning to launch a call for applications under the Profi funding opportunity in May–June 2027. The call text is expected to be published by early April at the latest.

The aim of the RCF's Profi funding is to support and accelerate the research-based profiling of Finnish universities based on their respective strategies.

The 2027 Profi call (Profi 10) responds to the need to strengthen the competence base of the Finnish R&D system.

Universities must demonstrate in their applications how the planned profiling measures will strengthen competence or increase the number of experts in selected research areas.

The call follows a funding model where the RCF’s contribution to the total costs is a maximum of 70 per cent.
