International call: Preparing for Tomorrow – Societies and Strategies in Times of Transition
The Trans-Atlantic Platform for the Social Sciences and Humanities (T-AP) network has launched a call for applications under the theme Preparing for Tomorrow – Societies and Strategies in Times of Transition to fund transatlantic (Europe-Africa-America) joint research projects in the field of social sciences and humanities. The call supports innovative, transnational social sciences and humanities research that strengthens society’s capacity to anticipate, understand and respond to future challenges and opportunities. Each application must include at least three eligible co-PIs from at least three different T-AP participating countries, with representation from both sides of the Atlantic.
The Research Council of Finland has earmarked 1,000,000 euros to fund Finnish research teams under the call.
Applications are invited to address one or more of the following overarching themes:
- Uncertainty: sources, costs, communication and improvement
- The many faces of the future and crisis: historical, cultural and regional perspectives
- Scope and coordination of response strategies
- Normative inquiry into prevention and preparation for future crises.
In addition to Finland, the call involves the following countries: from Europe: the Netherlands, Poland, France and Germany; from Africa: South Africa; from North America: Canada; and from Latin America: Brazil.
