Integrated Atmospheric and Earth System Science Research Infrastructure (INAR RI)
The Integrated Atmospheric and Earth System Science Research Infrastructure (INAR RI) integrates continuous multidisciplinary environmental measurements and serves as a unique centre of excellence for new knowledge and innovations.
INAR RI is an umbrella infrastructure that coordinates Finland’s participation in four European Environmental Research Infrastructures (ICOS, ACTRIS, eLTER and AnaEE), of which ICOS-ERIC and ACTRIS-ERIC have international headquarters in Helsinki. INAR RI is comprised of 30 measurement stations, exploratory platforms and a data infrastructure. INAR RI services include open access to long-term observation data, access to measurement stations and research platforms, and instrument development. INAR RI continues to develop its world-leading research stations, provide services for the needs of society and integrate the expertise of its research community.
Research facilitated by INAR RI has a positive impact on climate resilience, protection against environmental disasters and human health.
INAR RI includes: University of Helsinki, University of Eastern Finland, University of Turku, CSC - IT Center for Science Ltd, Finnish Meteorological Institute, Finnish Environment Institute, Natural Resources Institute Finland, University of Oulu, Tampere University and University of Jyväskylä.
