Euro-BioImaging Finland: European Research Infrastructure for Imaging Technologies in Biological and Biomedical Sciences (EB-Fi)

Euro-BioImaging Finland (EB-Fi) brings together Finland’s leading biological and biomedical imaging centres. EB-Fi provides researchers and business users with access to state-of-the-art imaging technologies, ranging from the molecular level to entire humans. These also include AI-based analysis methods.

Imaging is one of the most important methods in biological and medical research and the fight against diseases such as cancer, diabetes and infectious diseases. EB-Fi’s imaging technologies and services have played a key role in numerous scientific and technological breakthroughs as well as in advances in diagnostics and clinical practices.

EB-Fi is part of the extensive international European Euro-BioImaging-ERIC, headquartered in Turku. EB-Fi has been part of the Finnish national roadmap for research infrastructures since 2014. EB-Fi includes Åbo Akademi University, University of Helsinki, University of Eastern Finland, Tampere University, Aalto University, University of Turku, Helsinki University Hospital, Kuopio University Hospital, University of Oulu and Turku University Hospital.
