Use of artificial intelligence
Generative AI and other similar digital tools can be used to support the preparation of the application. The RCF does not require the applicant to indicate whether they have used AI tools in drafting the application.
However, the applicant is wholly responsible for ensuring that the research or action plan and other parts of the application are based on accurate and truthful information. The applicant must be able to assess and, if necessary, justify the accuracy of the information provided. The application or parts of it shall not contain inaccurate information, nor shall the application or parts of it contain plagiarised or fabricated content.
RCF staff, reviewers and decision-makers involved in the processing of applications are not allowed to enter information from application documents or review reports into generative AI tools. To support the research funding process, the RCF uses analysis and optimisation methods based on machine learning and natural language processing. The tools do not review applications or make funding decisions. Data protection is strictly respected at all stages.
