- decide on Academy Professor selections and funding
- decide the units to be included in the Centre of Excellence programme and their funding
- decide on the special funding for EuroHPC, quantum computing and high-performance computing; approves the final reports
- decide on the funding to strengthen university research profiles; approves the final reports
- decide on the phased funding decisions (for 2025–2026) for the Finnish Flagships selected under the 1st and 2nd calls of the Finnish Flagship Programme
