Programme activity

Programme activity refers to the joint and cross-programme activities of SRC programmes and to the forging of links between researchers and knowledge users. The programme activity is planned and implemented by a dedicated programme activity group, which includes not only experts working in the Division of Strategic Research but also programme directors of SRC programmes.

Each SRC programme has a part-time programme director (50–60% of working hours) who works in their own background organisation, such as a university or research institute. In terms of programme activity, the key tasks of the programme director are to be responsible for cross-programme cooperation with other programme directors and to promote the societal impact of research together with the Division of Strategic Research. The Division of Strategic Research coordinates the programme activity.

Through the programme activity, the SRC, programme directors, programmes, projects and the Division of Strategic Research will jointly develop methods to strengthen dialogue between science and societal decision-making and to build better conditions for the societal impact of research.
