Inno INDIGO ERA-NET funded through FP7 is a continuation to the succesful New INDIGO ERA-NET (2009-2013). It works towards enhancing the research and innovation cooperation between India and European countries and involves 15 partners from 11 countries, including Academy of Finland (AKA). The coordinators are PT-DLR from Germany and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) from India. The research funding organizations from India are DBT (Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science of Technology) and DST (Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science of Technology).
The planned three joint research project calls follow closely the themes agreed on a higher EU-India policy level:
Call 2014: Clean Water and Health (with DBT)
Call 2015: Diagnostics and interventions in chronic non-communicable diseases (with DST)
Call 2016: Biobased energy (with DBT and DST) - Call was closed 12 June 2016
Academy of Finland participates in the Inno INDIGO ERA-NET 2016 call on Biobased energy through its New Energy Academy Programme.

Academy of Finland was on observer in the New INDIGO ERA-NET (2007-2013, coordinated by CNRS France and CSIR India) and participated in the following joint calls:
2011 networking call (with DST) on Water Research. AKA participated in the call through the AKVA (Sustainable Governance of Aquatic Resources) Academy Programme. Two Finnish participants were funded.
2013 joint research project call (with DST) on Energy Research. AKA participated in the call through the New Energy Academy Programme and funded up to seven Finnish research groups.
