OMA Foresight - New directions for materials research, 22 Sep 2016

The purpose of this foresight event is to inspire researchers to think about the future of materials and the significance of their own research: what role will it play in the long run and how could it be focused better for the future?

The event will begin with presentations by Academy Research Fellow Mikko Möttönen and futurist and technology expert Risto Linturi. Mikko Möttönen will talk about his sources of creativity, the successful renewal of his own research and his success in raising ERC funding. In his inspiring way, Risto Linturi will take the participants to the future of materials. In the afternoon, the participants will work with Risto Linturi and the programme managers to create stories of a future filled with materials.
