The Joint Committee for the Nordic Research Councils in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NOS-HS) promotes renewal of science and international collaboration between researchers. NOS-HS funds Nordic exploratory workshops in the humanities and social sciences, where researchers gather together around a jointly developed new theme to establish contacts and develop joint research projects. The workshops can also be used to prepare joint applications for international funding calls. If Covid-19 restrictions persist, online and hybrid workshops are encouraged. There must be explorative and interactive elements in the setup of the workshops with early career researchers in active roles.
The workshops are designed for researchers at different career stages from at least three Nordic countries. In the present call, funding is available for a series of workshops (2‒3 workshops) that will take place in 2022‒2023. The funding is EUR 29,000‒43,000 per series. In the 2020 call, NOS-HS could fund 34 series which will organise 103 Nordic workshops for over 2200 researchers.
