Overheads percentage in projects following the additional cost model

The so-called additional cost model is applied to funding for research posts as Academy Professor and Academy Research Fellow and to mobility grants. Under the additional cost model, the overheads percentage granted to projects is 12.5 per cent.

The site of research can use the granted overheads to cover indirect research costs. These include costs arising from the research, relating to office and laboratory premises, equipment and services (incl. computer equipment and telecommunications, telephone, mailing, copying and library services). If a site of research charges less than 12.5 per cent for overheads, the remaining funds can be used to implement the research plan presented in the application, that is, for direct research costs. The principal investigator of the project and the site of research shall agree on this.
