Finnish call text for strategic research programmes out now

25 Nov 2016

The Finnish-language call text for the Strategic Research Council’s call under three new strategic research programmes has been published. The English version of the call text will be published as soon as possible.

The new strategic research programmes included in the call are based on the Finnish Government’s decision (6 Oct 2016) on strategic research themes for 2017 and 2018. The call, which opens next week, includes three programmes:

  • Changing Society and Active Citizenship (2017-2020)
  • Adaptation and Resilience for Sustainable Growth (2018–2023)
  • Keys to Sustainable Growth (2018–2023).

The call has two stages. The first stage, for letters of intent, is open from 1 December 2016 to 11 January 2017. Applications are submitted using the Academy of Finland’s online services. The consortia going through to the second stage of the call will be selected by the SRC on 13 March 2017.

More information on the programmes, the questions that form the basis of the research plan and the application guidelines are available in the call text. The English-language version of the call text will be published before the call opens.

The Strategic Research Council (SRC) at the Academy of Finland funds high-quality research that has great societal impact. The research funded by the SRC should seek to find concrete solutions to grand challenges that require multidisciplinary approaches.
