25 Feb 2014

The Academy of Finland’s April 2014 call for applications is now available online.

Applications can be submitted as of 1 April and the deadline is 29 April. Please note, however, that the deadline for the joint call with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of India is 30 May. The joint call is implemented within the Academy’s research programme New Energy.

The Academy’s Arctic Research Programme is one of the calls to be opened. The significance of and the interest in Arctic areas have increased greatly in recent years. At the core of the Arctic Research Programme is the aim to study and understand the change factors affecting the development of the Arctic region; the transformation process; the dynamics of change; and the various dimensions of sustainability linked to time and space in relation to the future of the Arctic region.

The April 2014 call also includes the first stage of the Academy’s research programme New Energy. The programme involves a search for solutions to managing the coming major transition in the energy sector.
