The three-year project funding for the Finnish Global Change Research Programme FIGARE ended at the end of 2002. The programme co-ordination at the University of Turku is gradually closing up, but there are still documents under preparation, and the programme will be evaluated during the spring 2003. News and information of further publications will be published on theses pages. The results of the programme have been collected in a book "Understanding the global system - the Finnish perspective", which includes scientific articles by the research consortia. The separate articles of the book can be viewed and downloaded as .pdf documents from these pages. You may also contact the programme office (jukka.kayhko@utu.fi) and enquire a hard copy of the book as long as we have copies available. Despite the fact that we are closing up, global change research is being undertaken in many institutions in Finland. When searching for Finnish researchers in this topic field, you may find the included names and affiliations useful.
