The aim of the seminar is to discuss the various approaches to sustainable mining governance in Finland and Russia and to analyze how different policies and tools, such as environmental impact assessment, corporate social responsibility, are utilized in both these countries. Seminar seeks to bring together researchers that also engage with questions related to social license to operate, as well as issues of social acceptance and socio-economic impacts of mining and in general social-scientific research on mining.
