National Strategy for Centres of Excellence in Research

The national strategy for centres of excellence (CoEs) in research defines the objectives, content and implementation of Finland's CoE programme. The strategy is based on the national science and technology policy quidelines. The CoE strategy will be integrated into the national research system so that research organizations, financiers and result users form a coherent entity. CoEs will form the magnetic cores of creative researvh environments. The CoE programme is dynamic, and the selection procedure is competitive.
