New Role of Russian Enterprises as Actors in the International Business Arena
Abstract
This research project has been designed to study the impact of the outward and inward internationalisation on the microeconomic transformation in Russia and analyse the consequences of this microeconomic catching up to the future role of Russian firms abroad. The research project aims at answering the following research questions:
- What is the future role of Russian corporations in international business and what is the impact of the outward direct investments from Russia on entrepreneurial development in Russia?
- What kind of business practices and ethics these Russian corporations spread abroad when they execute their outward internationalisation?
- How do the living and working environments found in industrial regions - still largely dominated by single corporations - affect the new professionals' willingness towards international mobility?
- What is the impact of inward foreign direct investment on the entrepreneurial development in Russian regions?
- What are the main constraints for the effective development of Russian small and medium-sized enterprises and how positive EU practices concerning SME development can be used in Russia?
- How do sector-specific restructuring processes reflect the international obligations of the Russian Federation: the case of energy sector in a climate policy framework?
