Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop methods for learning behavioural models, models for user behaviours and models for devices to adapt to the environment. A user model might indicate that the user normally switches his or her mobile phone into silent mode when entering a concert room. Using such a model, a proactive system can give a command on behalf of the user. The motivation for this research stems from the aging of the population. To guarantee the quality of life of the elderly, they should be able to live as long as possible in their homes instead of in institutional care.
