Instructions for self-evaluation

PROACT Programme Evaluation 2006

You are encouraged to use available text fields available for further explanations and clarifications.

Each project partner should fill in one form.

All information returned in this form is confidential. However, if you feel that there is some information that you cannot disclose in this form, you can leave it out.

Terms

PROACT project = one of fourteen projects funded by the PROACT programme, some are PROACT consortia, some PROACT individual projects; some are French-Finnish PROACT consortia, some are Finnish PROACT projects.

PROACT subproject = funding/research for/by one PROACT project partner.

PROACT project partner = one of the partner teams involved in a PROACT consortium; sometimes referring to the person in charge of a subproject.

PROACT researcher = researcher involved in but not necessarily funded by a PROACT project.

You = PROACT subproject or project.

A) FIGURES AND FACTS

Table 1

Fill in the name of the project, its web page(s), the person in charge of the subproject and type of her or his organisation, if the project is a consortium or an individual project, and if you are the coordinator of the consortium.

Table 2 - who was funded by PROACT

Fill in the staff who was financed/partially financed by PROACT funds. Estimate how many person months they made. "Extend" the table if necessary, write each employee on her or his own line (or several lines).

Table 3 - who worked in the PROACT project

If you like, fill in staff that was closely related to the project but not financed by PROACT funds (e.g., project leaders, professors, supervisors, PhD students that made collaboration). (It is sometimes hard to say who worked in a project and who did not: this table gives a chance to give credit to persons that were not funded by PROACT, but who still contributed to the research.)

"Extend" the table if necessary (by hitting return in each column).

Table 2 and table 3 now contains personnel that are referred to as PROACT researchers.

Table 4 - what connections/cooperation did the PROACT project have

Fill in

a) PROACT researchers who visited other national or international institutions to make research related to the PROACT project. (Write "To" in the To/From field.)

b) (Any) Researchers that visited your institution and where their visit was somehow related to the PROACT project. (Write "From" in the To/From field.)

"Extend" the table if necessary (by hitting return in each column).

Table 5 - Completed degrees

Fill in PhD, PhL, MSc, or other degrees that were completed (or worked on)  by PROACT researchers during the project. Estimate how much the PROACT funding affected the completion (0-100%).

"Extend" the table if necessary (by hitting return in each column).

6. Funding - other funding in the same area

7. Any other facts that you want to add (or were not able to explain in the tables).

8. Appendices

Include lists of publications, patents, participation in TV/radio programmes, any news media articles written about the project. Also include at most 10 scientific articles published by PROACT researchers related to the project.

B) SELF-EVALUATION

Try to estimate how well you/the programme succeeded. Please add textual clarifications when needed. The form should be self-explanatory, but please ask if something is unclear.

Return the self-evaluation form and appendices to Greger.Linden@cs.helsinki.fi by 28 February 2006.

The forms will not be modified before they are sent to the evaluators.

Please return as much material (form, publications, etc.) as possible in electronic format and preferably in PDF.
