International Symposium
Saariselkä, Ivalo
20.-23.11.1999
The goal of the symposium was to bring together the latest scientific excellence on biodiversity research in the Northern - arctic and boreal - ecosystems. Northern Dimension to Biodiversity brought together scientists and key actors in biodiversity research policy.
The programme of the symposium was interdisciplinary and encouraged interaction: keynote lectures drawing together the most recent scientific achievements, discussions focusing on identifying critical gaps in the present biodiversity research and suggesting ways and means of enhancing future co-operation and building new innovative approaches.
