Proposals for strategic research themes to be aired at public hearing on 18 April

The Strategic Research Council (SRC) at the Academy of Finland will present its proposals for strategic research themes for 2017 and 2018 during a public hearing to be held on 18 April 2016 in Helsinki. The event will give the scientific community and end-users of research the opportunity to express their views and provide input on the theme proposals. Click on the links below to read a description of each theme.

In addition, the SRC has identified two focus areas:

  • Evidence-informed policymaking
  • Demographic changes

The public hearing will be held in the auditorium of the National Museum of Finland on Monday 18 April at 13.00–16.00. Please register at www.academyevents.fi by 11 April at the latest. The registration code is “STNteemat2017-18”. A live webcast of the event will be available at www.aka.fi/stn-kuulemistilaisuus. Viewers will also be able to join in the discussion via SMS and Twitter. The messages will be displayed on a screen at the hearing. The event will be held in Finnish.
