The funding calls by the Strategic Research Council (SRC) closed on Wednesday. Judging by the number of applications received by the deadline, the calls stirred up much interest in the researcher community. The Academy of Finland’s April 2015 call included three SRC programme calls: Disruptive Technologies and Changing Institutions attracted 46 applications, Equality in Society attracted 35 applications and A Climate-Neutral and Resource-Scarce Finland attracted 49 applications.
The review process will begin almost immediately. First, the applications will go through a review of societal relevance. The SRC will use these reviews to select the projects for the review of scientific quality. All applicants will be informed of the SRC’s decisions by mid-June.
