The Strategic Research Council (SRC) has resumed work after the summer holidays. We have already received queries about the current status of the new theme process. On 17 June, the SRC submitted four theme proposals for 2016 to the Finnish Government for final approval. The Government will decide on the themes during the course of the autumn. After the Government’s decision, the SRC will start work on the themes to construct theme-based research programmes. Once this decision has been done, we can start drafting the schedule for the next call for applications. According to the feedback we have received regarding the first call, the applicants need more time to write good-quality proposals and thorough interaction plans. The SRC will take this into consideration in the next round. Stay tuned for more information.
