The first stage of the Strategic Research Council’s (SRC) 2016 funding call closed on Wednesday 9 December. The call for letters of intent included four new funding programmes and a top-up on an earlier programme.
The programmes attracted a good number of applications:
- Health, Welfare and Lifestyles – 60 applications
- Security in a Networked World – 30 applications
- Skilled Employees – Successful Labour Market – 24 applications
- Urbanising Society – 22 applications.
The supplementary call within the 2015 programme A Climate-Neutral and Resource-Scarce Finland received a total of 16 applications.
Next, panels will review the societal relevance, impact and scientific quality of the applications. Based on the panels’ review reports, the SRC will invite the best applications in each programme to submit full applications. The decision on which applications will go through to the second stage will be made in January.
