The Integrated Ocean Drilling Programme (IODP) is an international marine research programme that explores Earth’s history and structure recorded in seafloor sediments and rocks, and monitors sub-seafloor environments.
IODP is open to researchers from all IODP member countries. Researchers may submit drilling proposals and apply for expedition participation.
The Academy of Finland pays the annual membership fee by which Finland is a partner in the European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling (ECORD), and thus a member of IODP. The programme has 25 members (2013).
