The EU Joint Programming Initiative “A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life” (JPI HDHL) is aimed at providing a holistic approach to the interplay of key factors that affect diet-related diseases, discovering new relevant parameters and mechanisms, and defining strategies that contribute to the development of actions, policies and innovative products, to reduce the burden of diet-related diseases. JPI HDHL provides a roadmap for harmonised and structured research efforts in the area of food, nutrition, health and physical activity.

Finland participates in JPI HDHL especially via SalWe, the Strategic Centre for Science, Technology and Innovation in the field of health and wellbeing. Finland’s representatives in the initiative are Saara Hassinen (SalWe) and Heikki Aro (Tekes).
