The EU Joint Programming Initiative “Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change” (FACCE JPI) brings together 22 EU Member States and Associated Countries committed to promoting European research into solving the interconnected challenges of sustainable agriculture, food security and impacts of climate change.
Finland’s participation in FACCE JPI is coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Academy of Finland. The agencies engage in FACCE JPI activities and decision-making as well as open funding calls. The work is also supported by a network of researchers and other actors in the field.
The Strategic Research Agenda of the initiative sets out the strategic priorities for the activities and provides a framework for the alignment of existing programmes and joint research efforts to achieve the twin objectives of food security and combating climate change.
