Proposals for new Academy Programmes

New Academy Programmes

In 2017 the Academy of Finland will request proposals for new Academy Programmes with an open online survey where members of the scientific community can suggest programme topics. Proposals may be submitted during November with an electronic tool (link available later).

Proposals submitted via the surveys are discussed at a joint workshop between the Academy’s research councils. The goal of the workshop is to assess, adjust and adapt the proposals to form a select set of proposals that best suit the Academy Programme format. The Board of the Academy decides on the start-up and funding of new Academy Programmes.

Proposals received in 2016

The online survey that closed at the end of the year 2016 attracted 256 proposals for new Academy Programmes. The proposals were discussed at a research council workshop in February 2017. The research councils selected eleven proposals as potential programmes. The Academy Board decided on the start-up of new Academy Programmes in June 2017.
