The Water and FACCE JPIs have launched a call for international and transnational collaborative research projects related to water resources in agriculture. The call is implemented under the WaterWorks2015 ERA-NET Cofund.
Proposals are invited on the topic “Sustainable management of water resources in agriculture, forestry and freshwater aquaculture sectors”. The theme covers the following challenges:
- Increasing the efficiency and resilience of water uses
- Monitoring and reducing soil and water pollution
- Integrating social and economic dimensions into the sustainable management and governance of water resources.
The joint call is funded by 25 funding organisations from 22 countries, with a total funding budget estimated at around 26 million euros. The Academy of Finland and the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will participate in funding successful Finnish applicants.
The call is open from 16 February with a closing date for preproposals on 19 April.
