Antti Kupiainen, Academy Professor based at the University of Helsinki, is a mathematician of exceptional productivity. His expertise covers a wide range of areas and he has conducted research among others in statistical mechanics, constructive quantum field theory, dynamical systems, stochastic processes and nonlinear partial differential equations.
Mathematical physics is at present perhaps the most interesting and fastest developing field of mathematics. Kupiainen has strengthened his position as one of the leading figures in mathematical physics and reached a prominent position in applied mathematics as well. He is considered the most original, productive and influential mathematician in Finland, who brings innovative ideas into Finnish mathematics.
