Survey: One important route to broader impact of research is through people working outside academia

The broader impact of research in society is widely discussed today. One important route to broader impact of research is through people working outside academia who have been trained in research, e.g., have a doctoral degree. To examine the role of doctoral degree holders in society the Academy of Finland conducted a survey for doctoral degree holders in four different research fields.
