Optics and optoelectronics science and technology projects play, and certainly will continue to play, a major role in society, because they represent one of the fastest-growing industrial fields (also in Finland).

Funding decisions for the 2009 call were made on 14 October 2009. 13 projects with 33 participating research groups were awarded funding, starting 1 January 2010. The list of projects can be found here.
