Recruitment with Academy funding

The collective agreements, the new pay system (UPJ) and other instructions concerning employment in force at the site of research are to be complied with in the salaries of any personnel hired with Academy funding and in any other conditions of such employment.

The Academy recommends that the duties of researchers with a doctorate, hired to universities with Academy funding, include teaching to such extent that the total working time spent on teaching constitutes no more than 5 per cent of the researcher’s annual working time; no separate compensation is paid for this teaching.

Grants are usually awarded only for work or studies abroad and for a foreign researcher’s visit to Finland for a maximum of one year.
