For researchers

The Academy of Finland provides funding for scientific research of the highest quality. This green section of the Academy’s website gives information for researchers and reviewers of applications, as well as for universities, research institutes and business companies, on the Academy’s funding opportunities and funding conditions. The section describes how to apply for funding, how applications are processed, how funding decisions are made, and how to report on the use of funds.

As a rule, applications are invited in April and September. The Academy’s four Research Councils decide on the funding within their own scope of expertise.

Just make it nice and neat, say panels

The applications submitted to the Academy of Finland in the October 2010 call were overall of a good standard, but there were also some room for improvement. This was the conclusion of the international panels that processed and reviewed the applications. In particular, the reviewers called for a clearer structure and more clarity in the applications.
