Structure of the Finnish research system, the impact of research

The structure of the Finnish research system and the impact of research are reviewed on the basis of international country-specific comparisons and R&D indicators. The key aim is to compare the position of Finland and its research system with international top countries and major competitor countries.

The structure of the research system is analysed in the same way as the framework and indicators in the VINDI project, that is, from the perspective of inputs, activity, results and impacts. Qualitative data and case-specific measures are used to identify impact and impact chains of science and research.
