Advanced oxidation processes in industrial wastewater treatment (AOPI)

AOPI project aims at providing novel information on the use of advanced oxidation processes in the treatment of industrial wastewaters (originating from food and pharmaceutical industry). Especially, the focus will be in wastewaters with high TOC and toxic compound loadings and therefore the final goal is to develop an ecoefficient hybrid process based on photocatalysis and CWAO. Sustainability assessment analysis will be used as a tool to evaluate the process during the whole research and the study on the health effects of organic pollutants will be in a central role.
