Programme steering group

The OMA programme is managed by a programme steering group composed of Academy Research Council members, representatives of stakeholder groups, and expert members. Other expert members may also be invited to contribute to the steering group’s meetings.

Composition of the programme steering group:

  • Chair: Professor Heli Jantunen, Research Council for Natural Sciences and Engineering
  • Vice Chair: Professor Juhani Knuuti, Research Council for Health

Members:

  • Professor Jaakko Kangasjärvi, Research Council for Biosciences and Environment

Expert members:

  • Professor Seppo Honkanen, Aalto University
  • Principal Scientist Asta Kärkkäinen, Nokia Research Center
  • Senior Technology Adviser Markku Lämsä, Tekes
  • Professor Ulla Ruotsalainen, Tampere University of Technology
  • Professor Riitta Suuronen, University of Tampere

 The duties of the programme steering group are:

  • to prepare the programme and submit to the programme sub-committee a proposal on projects to be funded
  • to make a proposal to Academy Research Councils and other funding bodies on any additional calls or additional funding
  • to manage and monitor the programme
  • to steer and support programme coordination
  • to plan and organise the final evaluation of the programme
  • to promote the application of the programme’s research results.
